How to properly install (packing) packing
The importance of proper packing of the correct packing of the packing is obvious. Many seal failures are caused by incorrect devices. The following are the correct and effective means of installation:
(1) Clear the packing cavity and check whether the shaft surface has scratches and burrs. The filling chamber should be clean and the shaft should be lubricated.
(2) Check the radial runout of the shaft in the closed part with a dial gauge, and the tolerance should be within the allowable range.
(3) The inside of the packing cavity and the outer surface of the shaft should be coated with a smooth sealant.
(4) For the packing of the roll packaging, a wooden rod should be taken first, and the shaft diameter is the same size, the packing is wound on the upper part, and then cut with a knife. The incision is preferably a 45 degree inclined surface, and the cutting is performed.
After each section of the packing, it should not be straightened and slackened. Instead, the strips of the same width as the packing should be wrapped in a circle shape and placed in a clean place for use.
(5) When loading, it should be filled one circle at a time, and not several times at the same time. The method is to take a ring of filler, tear off the tape, apply a smoothing agent, and then use one end of each of the two sides of the filler interface.
The shaft is pulled apart to make it spiral, and then the shaft diameter is inserted from the interface, so be careful not to pull it in the radial direction to avoid the interface being uneven.
(6) Take a wooden two-sleeve sleeve of the same size as the filling chamber, fit on the shaft, push the packing into the deep part of the cavity, and apply a certain pressure to the wooden bushing with the gland to make the packing top.
Tightening. The top tightening amount is about 5% to 10%, and the maximum is 20%. Then rotate the shaft one turn and take out the wooden bushing.
(7) Fill the second ring and the third ring in the same way, but it should be noted that the position of the interface should be offset by 180 degrees when the second ring is filled, and the interface should be offset by 120 degrees when the third ring is filled.
When the ring is filled, it is staggered by 90 degrees to prevent leakage through the interface.
(8) After the last lap of filling, the gland should be pressed tightly, but the pressing force should not be too large. At the same time, the spindle is rotated by hand, so that the pressing force after assembly tends to parabolically spread, and then
